Hi..Just wanted to share with the world some thoughts and the knowledge of some things that go on in the mind of people around me. Basically they tend to ask me stuff that are hysterical but some how gets u thinking what goes on in that brain of theirs. I do not mean to insult anyone who asks people what I am about to say on a regular basis but maybe just point out to u why I feel that they are redundant..haha..or rather why they are so funny.
"Hey, u vegetarian right? U can eat chicken or fish?"..This is basically rhetorical and does not need an explanation.. Say what u might but the ans is so duh haha.
"Hey I thought vegetarians are supposed to be skinny how come u are nt?"
Vegans can be both skinny or fat and it fundamentally depends on food intake and what type of foods are consumed and how much we expend and that depends on the kind of lifestyle we lead and so there u are.. after all we still are humans and we function in every way everyone else does.
That is just an appetiser , will give u more in future.
This next part is abt the ignorance of the chinese friends I have and I dont blame them. I mean its not really their fault that they do not comprehend basic things such as these but I admire their desire to gain enlightenment by making queries. This may only refer to several groups of ppl.
1st problem: They have this idea that all Indians know tamil.
Tamil is a language and Indian is a race.Easy.
2nd problem: They have this notion that all Indians are black.
...?nonsense
3rd problem: They have the habit of mixing up Tamil and Hindi.
Tamil is frm tamil nadu and Hindi is spoken mostly in the north but is the ntl
lang of india.
4th problem: They think that all Bollywood movies revolves around ppl dancing ard trees.
haha haha.. this is comical man. I admit that all shows involve dancing but the ones
in the past few years do not consist of any such thing. Stop living in the past!!!
These are issues that require attention since we are a multi racial community but somehow they dont know these basic things. I am not sure how to react to these whether to shoot myself or die laughing but they not understanding is pure gold and entertainment as they ranck their heads to solve this scientific puzzle..
I will share with u more soon but as a last note i would like to officially say for the benefit of those who dont already know that Indians are not BANGLAS!

after reading this i admit that it is pretty funny.haha.i agree that chinese friends do ask these kind of non sensical questions.for me i had personal experiences. fro example my friends would say "you indian right?" than i would say "yes.why?"immediately they would put their hands together like praying and would sway their heads from left to right.and would pretend to speak tamil anyhow.so irritating.but that is how they are and we just got to get used to it.another would be when friends cannot distinguish between a race and a language.they would say "eh you tamil right?". i will say no i am an indian.nomatter how many i tell them thay would repaeat the same thing over and over again. anyways like i said we must get used to how they are and gey used to the way they are speaking. i dont mean their fluency in english but their way they distinguish between soomethings about us indians.sometimes i wnt to retaliate by saying soome things.but i dont like to hurt anyones feelings.yup.thats all. i hopeyou have enjoyed what you have read. see ya.
Oh gawd, the bollywood thing is so true, but I do think its kinda fostered by the fact that the only exposure they get is other indians or the movies on vasantham central (which I assure you haven't caught up to modern movie-making standards yet :)). Indians are generally a self-effacing race, or at least those I know are, and that's generally how such stuff spreads. The funny thing though is how it's always the same ppl who you've explained the same thing to countless times who come up with the same questions all over again. I've never encountered the indian=bangla thing before though. I think most singaporeans clearly distinguish the two.
The vegetarian thing though is just plain dumb
hey there great post. It really does make sense though. It shows how truely narrow minded Singaporeans really are. Like a time when i went to McDonalds. being a vegetarian i usually ask for a burger without the patty. So i asked for a McChicken without the chicken. The @#$% behind the counter then asked
"So what u want then; a Mac?"
A statement which could be insulting to some but however if taken a closer look at shows how narrow minded thinkers Singaporeans really are. Ive got alot of dudes asking me about this indian thing. Absolutely makes sense dude. Great work. Keep up the good writeups ;)
