As I was just walking around Tampines Interchange, in wait for a friend of mine, I stumbled upon 2 boys asking about for donations for Tampines Home. I just sat there observing how people would react as they went around asking, beacause basically I was bored. They splited up and combed the area. They were not having much luck. I saw them ask this lady if she could donate please and provided those 'I would really love u if u donated ' faces. U know what she said? She pointed to her I-pod and said shook her head. That was rather rude. I mean they were talking to her and she blatantly ignored them man.. She was trying to say, from what I could figure out, that she already had an Ipod so she didnt need to donate..
I agree that I at times skirt people asking for donations but thats if I am in a rush.. Just drop in a coin ah .Is that so hard? This reminded me of a time I was busy trying to jostle a packed crowd in Bedok Interchange for people to donate during my Sec 2 Flag day. I was with a friend as we stood on opposite sides of the walkway to cover more ground. Just a typical day, I mean I had my fair share of flag days. Then I was simply elated when I saw family members I knew walk by. I pondered on how much more I would have if they donated. They dug into their pockets and they took out a bundle of notes. Good Lord right! DEAD WRONG! HAHA He opened the notes and took out a 20 cent coin inside placed it in my tin and told me to have a good day.. I was left stunned , jaw hanging and disturbed. I reviewed the way I asked them for it.. Was that all I was worth? Then I was enlightened and came to the conclusion that they are cheap.
Warning to those who may ask for donations in future: Dont expect too much. U will gravely be disappointed.
P.S I DONATED TODAY TO THE BOYS.

Man Utd vs Chelsea clash
I now wish to exercise my freedomof speech by rendering my football pundit knowledge to this one heck of a clash. This match will be one to savour as the top two of the last 3 seasons meet at Stamford Bridge with both having different forms.
Man utd have failed to win in their past 4 games and their scoring has been dissmal considering their performance in front of goal last season. They could not achieve a result in front of a resilient Liverpool team last week and their performances have not been that great. Having failed to win Villareal, they look in torrid form but they will definitely be motivated with the availability of their Portugese masterclass Cristiano Ronaldo who might play a big part in this game.Fergie's man could pull out a good performance and bag a few points which would be great for the league if they share the spoils.
Chelsea, on the other hand have been rampant. They smashed Bordeaux with a very classy performance especially with their new sgning Deco pulling the strings. They also are top of the league and are looking as the possible champions come May. They were still able to beat Man City comfortably last time out 3-1. They are unbeaten this season and have not been beaten at home since Arsenal did it 4 years ago. Their strength in depth is admirable and their play sublime. I expect Man Utd to cause a few problems but I do not think Chelsea will break that comprehensive record.
My prediction: Chelsea 2-Man utd 1

Thin is the new fat
hit counter
Gone were the days where artists pictured beautiful women to be fat ones. They somehow found beauty in what today would be considered disgusting. It is said that if Mona Lisa were painted in this day and age, she would be indeed fat. So why the vast difference in what is and what was perceived as beautiful. I think basically its the media.
I am not gonna ramble on about how to elaborate on this issue cause basically it sounds very close to being a GP essay. What I am trying to drive at is u will actually come to this realisation once u start hanging out with people and be solely a silent observer of the kind of conversations we have. Examples are needed i see. Lets say if u were to make a query to a friend about someone u both mutually know, the first thing that would be blabbered would be "the fat guy ah?/scrawny guy ah? muscular guy?".. Why the need for such labels? I mean just say the guy who has achieved this or the guy who can do this.. When u walk down Orchard Road, when we see a guy or a girl we are quick to judge them based on their appearance..To what cost? U are basically formulating assumptions on the person based on looks.
There is something else that bothers me.. When people are on the brink of being anorexic, they still claim to the whole world by pinching what little meat they have and weep that they are "fat".. Nonsense ah. Just think about it when we die, how would god ask us what kind of person we are? Will he ask were u fat? Or was ur body fat content more than 15%? U have committed a grave sin man..Media has calibrated our brains into thinking that being super slender is the only way to go and anything else is unsightly..
Trust me and see the next time someone asks about someone u know and realise the moral issue at hand here.. Not trying to preach but mainly to point out.

Sometimes being softer is being louder
Many a times we come across the phrase, "actions speak louder than words".It evidently means than talk is cheap and we mean what we say best by doing rather than providing cheap talk. I came to the realisation that actually speaking the softest is the best. Allow me to elaborate.
They say that the tongue is the sharpest weapon we can ever have. It provides us with the ability to hurt some one withought even touching him by whacking the person's spirit. Not something we should be proud of. My point is what u say will still matters regardless of how loud we say it. Noticed that the most sarcastic and most hurtful comments are the one that are muttered rather than screamed. I have done several debates in my schooling years and my opposition speakers just love screaming out their points, which does not even make it right. Its just an antic to get the crowd aroused(so dont do it cause its a waste).
Also if u like act tough by throwing ur weight around and bullying people with their physique does not make them all the more right. I have had my share of arguments where I sometimes find myself guilty of beginning to shout louder and louder even though I know I am deviating from the issue at hand and am entirely wrong. So a piece of advice: Speak softly and be loud .It makes u look more cool, lowers ur chances of high blood pressure and u are still heard.
