Thin is the new fat

Gone were the days where artists pictured beautiful women to be fat ones. They somehow found beauty in what today would be considered disgusting. It is said that if Mona Lisa were painted in this day and age, she would be indeed fat. So why the vast difference in what is and what was perceived as beautiful. I think basically its the media.

I am not gonna ramble on about how to elaborate on this issue cause basically it sounds very close to being a GP essay. What I am trying to drive at is u will actually come to this realisation once u start hanging out with people and be solely a silent observer of the kind of conversations we have. Examples are needed i see. Lets say if u were to make a query to a friend about someone u both mutually know, the first thing that would be blabbered would be "the fat guy ah?/scrawny guy ah? muscular guy?".. Why the need for such labels? I mean just say the guy who has achieved this or the guy who can do this.. When u walk down Orchard Road, when we see a guy or a girl we are quick to judge them based on their appearance..To what cost? U are basically formulating assumptions on the person based on looks.

There is something else that bothers me.. When people are on the brink of being anorexic, they still claim to the whole world by pinching what little meat they have and weep that they are "fat".. Nonsense ah. Just think about it when we die, how would god ask us what kind of person we are? Will he ask were u fat? Or was ur body fat content more than 15%? U have committed a grave sin man..Media has calibrated our brains into thinking that being super slender is the only way to go and anything else is unsightly..

Trust me and see the next time someone asks about someone u know and realise the moral issue at hand here.. Not trying to preach but mainly to point out.
