This is in reference to some of Lee Child series involving Jack Reacher. The Hard Way was a rather gripping tale, probably one of his best. I am glad that I am braved other sorts of genres of writing. I used to dwell in fantasy and stuff which fed my imagination and allowed me to enjoy the descriptions that took my ideas to the limits.
The thriller type of books seem to invoke different feelings of suspense and is really a taster. Thanks alot for the read.

Quality may not be plausible
Quality in the sense of the type of girl. These days girls with skimpy clothes might pass off as extremely attractive. This might be view expressed by the desperate. I am awaiting in the shadows to find someone whom i feel is quality with a few characteristics i prefer.
They rank in this order.
1)Intelligence
2)Personality
3)Looks(although highly of importance in terms of first impression. Not looking for aishwarya but must have some sort of standard of course)
4)Lifestyle( preferably more active girls i feel)
Everyone would have their own set of criterion. What disappoints me is that there are fewer girls these days that satisfy these things. Of course tradition abiding comes under personality. But still I feel that girls with quality are a rare breed . Pity those who just succumb to the nearest girl they know.

Quote of the week
After poking my friends a few times, i think they just wanted me to be silent. If not i cannot think of another reason for which he might proudly claim this.
"Ya , I manjan. I am proud to be a manjan man".
Haha haha pure gold. PPL insulting themselves haha

Teenage Tribulations
This is a confession that I never made when I was studying in Loyang. It was a rather loborious day with teachers lamenting us for poor performances in exams. We all knew, if not before the papers, that we did not prepare as much as we should have but we did not require that much nagging by teachers. I have immense respect for teachers but when they think we cannot think for ourselves, maybe this applies for my class only, it might cause me to crack a fuse. My history teacher is one of my favourite teachers and i was aware of her intentions but sadly i was told on the wrong day.
After getting barraged by a few other teachers, she was next on the list. We understood the first time she told us but she just kept repeating that we should not rest on our laurels and should improve on our performance. Lets get to the point. She was speaking when i suddenly burst out and told her to shut up. Embarrased by it but it happened. Everyone gasped and turned, but worst was the look i was given by her. Stunned, shocked but worst was her disppointment. Something that always annoyed me in Loyang was what was expected of me as i accomplished more and more. But the thing is their desires of me may not be of what my potential presents but more of what they presume an ideal student must be but at times such expectationsay be beyond reach and tendency is they might be disappointed.

Diary Entry for 151008
10 months have passed. As I sit in the destitude of what has somewhat become my abode, I cannot help but ponderabout the mannerisms of people and the way they feel as though their authority grants wisdom, Just something that is wrong.
I have come across throngs of people. Some listen more than act.Others boast more than prove. I have seen the most selfish and the selfless. There are scores of people that do not mind using ur abilities but when it comes to entertainment and fun, you are suddenly absent from their list of contacts.
The experience teaches me about life as a whole. How it is great and on occasion sucks. Although I poke fun at some and call people names no harm is intended as I know they mean well , some are anyway. It takes something real serious to occur for their true colours to be observed. And at times u would rather not have any colour.
I have seen the nicest become the worst and the accomodating morph into the heck-care type.It changes you.
But probably one of themore annoying gestures I have come across would be that people who are supposed to be 'experts' in their fields of knowledge but what they truly know is miniscule to say the least.
I at times feel obliged to do more than my fairshare since I feel imight come out of it a better person. My predicament in reality would be alot better than for those who are lazy to perform their duties. My sympathies lie with their work ethics.

Giving and expecting nothing in return
This would indeed be the ideal mannerism with which one should offer help or give present or in any way shape, way or form assist. However sadly this is not really the reality of the matter. I would classify it into 3 fundamentals.
The first would constitute people who give and 'expect nothing in return'.Or so they want people to believe that. Trust me, if they do give something to u, in the not too distant future they would expect u to do the same. Basically they would be cunning and assure u they did something for u but if ever they require assistance would definitely remind u of the times they assisted u.
The second would do it basically to seem generous in the eyes of the public. It is normally unspoken. They would expect u to tell anyone that they did indeed help and so their stature in society would improve . I mean it is giving and that has its benefits but doing it properly would also be in order. There is also the type where they do good to have good karma. In my opinion that is not the essence of how it should be.
The last and the type which should be the way is the kind where they give selflessly. They would not consider anything except the reciepient's well being I should say. This is the kind we must be striving for .Giving because we want to help and because we care is worth giving if not dont bother. Trust me try giving more in the third type and the bliss u obtain is immense.

FIFA 09 VS PES/WINNING ELEVEN
The coveted Fifa series and winning eleven always rival each other with the release of the other. When any one is released, the other would be within a month which would leave gamers and fans in a constant dilemma. They would dispute out which is the better version for the year and then purchase it. Many a times they would feel that their choice was wrong but some would feel elated for having that game.
Throngs of people would remain loyal to the type they would always play. So as each version arrives, playability and virtual reality improves and gameplay would too which would satisfy them enough. I have seen many who like only either but few like both. As for me i am a fan of both. Fifa 09 is an improvement form 08 and player transfers are updated and so are the skills and mannerisms of players making it more interesting and challenging i guess. However winning eleven just has this totally different form of virtual reality. It focuses more on the totality of the player and the u get a kick out of the way they shoot and the distance and the kind of players. Although for Fifa its about the same, its focus is more on playability in my opinion.
This summer the decision is made more difficult since they are equally good and its just down to ur desire for wat to get. I choose WE. So choose and do it wisely!!

Help me out here
Hi guys...I have always been fascinated with chess. I am a fan of all sorts of intellect games. I have come across many terms that involve good strategies like sicillian defense and dragon. Just wondering if u could help me out with some research about all thesekinda moves. Just e mail me at classic_arjun89@hotmail.com..Thanks
Asia's Pride
I am referring to the Mid valley Mega Mall. Its in the newer district of Kuala Lumpur. I am now proudly exclaiming that if u were to just gallavant through a floor of this giant mall, it would suffice as exercise. It is probably 4 times the size of the biggest shopping centre here. It has a wide array of shops and brands. Its styles and sales galore. Brilliant in all aspects. Its the perfect weekend getaway for its people. Probably the best time to venture to this wonderland would be during Christmas. There would be sales and tourists would be in abundance. Great atmosphere and well worth the trip.
Now i feel a sense of achievement
For years,i have strolled past a sight that sickened me. The sight of those kinda machines. U know the kind that gobbles down ur dollars for u to use this probably rigged up electronic hand to grasp stuffed toys or other merchandise off the floor. I told myself after several attempts many years ago that this could not be beaten and haha is probably the shop's main source of income considering the shit they sell. They give u this pitying smile everytime u slot in ur dollar and think u could come out tops but dont and turn around in disappointment.
Well today that all changed. It took three efforts but I got myself a Winnie the Pooh stuff toy from Marina Square in front of a group of people cheering me on. I think I probably got it due to the subjects i studied before like probability , math and physics. HAHA weird right but true. I have beaten a robot. Man reins supreme over technology. P.S I even had to choose the machine for which the hand had the biggest surface area and thickness. I rock !!

Almost as sweet as having sex

U might be compelled to read this post after skimming through the title..haha..This is totally my opinion but it might well be true. It is something that appeals greatly to my taste buds and i just love it. From the idea of eating it to holding it in my hands and placing it in my mouth. Its known commonly as kaju katli or kaju burfi. Kaju Katli is an Indian sweet made from cashews, sugar, cardamom powder and ghee. Typically cut into Rhombus pieces and covered with edible silver foil Varakh.
Basically its soft and sweet and probably one of the best treats my taste buds could have. Although there are so many varieties of Indian sweets, this appeals to me the most. Too much is not good. Haha.. Had experience of eating like a few kilos of it in the course of a week. Ended up getting puffy, swollen eyes like as though i was beaten up. Oh ya its very heaty and stuff so u could get a sore throat or something. But a little dose should get u out of a bad mood .. Trust me u should try some
Quote of the week
Here is this week's quote. It happened during a discussion about what kind of food to have for lunch. Then we were all throwing out suggestions considering where we were and what we wanted to do. I then had the craving to whack some indian food and this was said,
"I dont feel like eating Indian food today la. I want to just eat some normal food".
For those who are quick, he might be suggesting that Indian food is abnormal=)
Hope u had fun.

manjan eye

Having seen the movie Eagle Eye, u would get the impression that a cyber computer that collects intelligence by collating data from our every conversation, visitations, personalities and qualfication that controls our every move is plausible.
Haha it explains that with all the technology that is available to us, it may have setbacks of its own that may render our presence obsolete for all we know. There might be a manjan eye that controls all of us. Looking, controlling, probing. They are always watching!! aaaahhhh!!! The director or script writer made the computer brilliantly and it even used modes of vibrations to decipher what people were saying by measuring the dimensions of the cup and frequency of vibration and speech patterns of the personnel. I guess it may be possible but to truly decipher it would mean that calculations and measurements would have to immaculate. It was a good movie.
U ever comprehended why people suddenly do random stuff? They get the message to do so within them. The work of the manjan eye. We dont have a choice but to comply. Non compliance would lead to compromise.

Time management is key!
I have given several speeches regarding time management since my abilities are considered admirable by others. In primary school I was a prefect, librarian, soccer player, basketball player, monitor at some point and played in badminton for a while. In secondary school, I was a prefect, librarian and media club. I held leadership positions in all. I emerged as the top student of Loyang Sec. Did not bad in jc too and had two ccas. I was thus asked to share my abilities with a group of possible students in my jc. I think it went quite well but haha weirdly my time management qualities have transcended to my time out of NS.
Every weekend I tell myself before it happens that I will do this and this and this. The list went on by to my dismay never really materialised. It gets quite annoying since whenever I book in, I always feel dissatisfied with the way I spent my weekends. I guess this also applies to life in some strange manner. If u dont have a life plan and are not clear on ur goals, life would just pass u by and u would soon be resenting all the lost time u might have on ur hands. I now try my level to accomplish what i set out to do. I know they are just weekend that i lose but it also is an indication of how u would live ur life.

Thank You
I just want to take this oppurtunity to thank those who read this blog often and all. I really appreciate people who like my work and all. But I am sorry if some topics I might write these few days are dry in terms of content . I am finding it more difficult to source out my inspiration. Any tips?

The clock is always ticking
Hi guys..I was just wondering why at times time will fly fast or slow and why we feel it is a boon or bane. Its basically very simple. If u look and analyse why is it u feel that time is passing by so slow is because sub consciously u do not enjoy doing the activity,or u want to do other things.
Time flies when u have fun and all. I know that this is something all of us are pretty much aware of. My point is whether it passes slowly or quickly, it still passes.
I have found that what little free time I have is pure gold and need to spend it wisely. More often than not, I spam my time by playing PS2 which i now feel is stupid.Use the time to do something u must. Alot of the timewe do things we want instead of things we need. Doing things we want is fine so long as we have done the things we need and not procrastinate. This is what is required for good time management. Needless activities like shoppin or going to alot of gatherings just whale away time that could probably been used to do something else worthwhile.I am not telling u how to lead ur life but trying to help u use the time we have left well and to the best of ur abilities.

Quote of the week
I intend to put down outrageous, hysterical and simply silly quotes by people I know. For those who realise who they are, do not at all feel offended. Instead be elated that ur words are now made famous.
"I cant believe that people actually get up at 5 in the morning to brush teeth. I cannot brush in the morning, it feels weird".

Why I did it..
This is sadly not as exciting as a confessionabout murder or anything of that severity but for those who have known me since secondary school, I hope u vaguely recall me up on stage doing public speaking for basically almost every event in the school calender. I was comfortable up there and just simply liked the reception I recieved, not to say I am Chris Brown or any one like that, but it was decent. I think I was up there to the extent that people got sick of me cause of my regular appearance. I did not seek any lime light or any fame, I did it only cos I had to and was asked to since no one else volunteered but of course it got into my head that I was good. That probably was since everyone told me that(dont mean to brag). I didnt mind paving the way for the newer ones.
If u noticed why the hell does this guy(me) dress up for stupid events. I practically dressed up as many things. A bubbletea mascot, Julius Caesar,a clown, a poster boy,a priest, French ambassador, and many other stuff that I cant recall presently. There were no benefits to doing it, very humiliating but I still did it. I did the bubbletea mascot, where I had to wear a shower cap and skip around school and shout out flavours that we sold to raise money for charity and stuff. Basically I provided the idea and the teacher was for it totally. Ms suvian lee really wanted someone to boost the morale of the school and she looked to my seniors to do it.I was 2 years their junior and in the end I voluteered to do it even though she expected one of the senior guys to be up for this. For that I WAS PROUD,though humiliating.
I did the Jack in the box idea in jc cos I blurted it out while planning it but I completely forgot that some of the people I worked with had too much of an ego or were really perturbed by what others felt of them. Since I felt that the idea was genius, I still did it. Its not that I am stupid and thats the reason I did these things.I also wanted to lay back and let others do the dirty work. But I came to the conclusion, that I became a better person by doing these things.

What I did today..
As I was just walking around Tampines Interchange, in wait for a friend of mine, I stumbled upon 2 boys asking about for donations for Tampines Home. I just sat there observing how people would react as they went around asking, beacause basically I was bored. They splited up and combed the area. They were not having much luck. I saw them ask this lady if she could donate please and provided those 'I would really love u if u donated ' faces. U know what she said? She pointed to her I-pod and said shook her head. That was rather rude. I mean they were talking to her and she blatantly ignored them man.. She was trying to say, from what I could figure out, that she already had an Ipod so she didnt need to donate..
I agree that I at times skirt people asking for donations but thats if I am in a rush.. Just drop in a coin ah .Is that so hard? This reminded me of a time I was busy trying to jostle a packed crowd in Bedok Interchange for people to donate during my Sec 2 Flag day. I was with a friend as we stood on opposite sides of the walkway to cover more ground. Just a typical day, I mean I had my fair share of flag days. Then I was simply elated when I saw family members I knew walk by. I pondered on how much more I would have if they donated. They dug into their pockets and they took out a bundle of notes. Good Lord right! DEAD WRONG! HAHA He opened the notes and took out a 20 cent coin inside placed it in my tin and told me to have a good day.. I was left stunned , jaw hanging and disturbed. I reviewed the way I asked them for it.. Was that all I was worth? Then I was enlightened and came to the conclusion that they are cheap.
Warning to those who may ask for donations in future: Dont expect too much. U will gravely be disappointed.
P.S I DONATED TODAY TO THE BOYS.

Man Utd vs Chelsea clash
I now wish to exercise my freedomof speech by rendering my football pundit knowledge to this one heck of a clash. This match will be one to savour as the top two of the last 3 seasons meet at Stamford Bridge with both having different forms.
Man utd have failed to win in their past 4 games and their scoring has been dissmal considering their performance in front of goal last season. They could not achieve a result in front of a resilient Liverpool team last week and their performances have not been that great. Having failed to win Villareal, they look in torrid form but they will definitely be motivated with the availability of their Portugese masterclass Cristiano Ronaldo who might play a big part in this game.Fergie's man could pull out a good performance and bag a few points which would be great for the league if they share the spoils.
Chelsea, on the other hand have been rampant. They smashed Bordeaux with a very classy performance especially with their new sgning Deco pulling the strings. They also are top of the league and are looking as the possible champions come May. They were still able to beat Man City comfortably last time out 3-1. They are unbeaten this season and have not been beaten at home since Arsenal did it 4 years ago. Their strength in depth is admirable and their play sublime. I expect Man Utd to cause a few problems but I do not think Chelsea will break that comprehensive record.
My prediction: Chelsea 2-Man utd 1

Thin is the new fat
hit counter
Gone were the days where artists pictured beautiful women to be fat ones. They somehow found beauty in what today would be considered disgusting. It is said that if Mona Lisa were painted in this day and age, she would be indeed fat. So why the vast difference in what is and what was perceived as beautiful. I think basically its the media.
I am not gonna ramble on about how to elaborate on this issue cause basically it sounds very close to being a GP essay. What I am trying to drive at is u will actually come to this realisation once u start hanging out with people and be solely a silent observer of the kind of conversations we have. Examples are needed i see. Lets say if u were to make a query to a friend about someone u both mutually know, the first thing that would be blabbered would be "the fat guy ah?/scrawny guy ah? muscular guy?".. Why the need for such labels? I mean just say the guy who has achieved this or the guy who can do this.. When u walk down Orchard Road, when we see a guy or a girl we are quick to judge them based on their appearance..To what cost? U are basically formulating assumptions on the person based on looks.
There is something else that bothers me.. When people are on the brink of being anorexic, they still claim to the whole world by pinching what little meat they have and weep that they are "fat".. Nonsense ah. Just think about it when we die, how would god ask us what kind of person we are? Will he ask were u fat? Or was ur body fat content more than 15%? U have committed a grave sin man..Media has calibrated our brains into thinking that being super slender is the only way to go and anything else is unsightly..
Trust me and see the next time someone asks about someone u know and realise the moral issue at hand here.. Not trying to preach but mainly to point out.

Sometimes being softer is being louder
Many a times we come across the phrase, "actions speak louder than words".It evidently means than talk is cheap and we mean what we say best by doing rather than providing cheap talk. I came to the realisation that actually speaking the softest is the best. Allow me to elaborate.
They say that the tongue is the sharpest weapon we can ever have. It provides us with the ability to hurt some one withought even touching him by whacking the person's spirit. Not something we should be proud of. My point is what u say will still matters regardless of how loud we say it. Noticed that the most sarcastic and most hurtful comments are the one that are muttered rather than screamed. I have done several debates in my schooling years and my opposition speakers just love screaming out their points, which does not even make it right. Its just an antic to get the crowd aroused(so dont do it cause its a waste).
Also if u like act tough by throwing ur weight around and bullying people with their physique does not make them all the more right. I have had my share of arguments where I sometimes find myself guilty of beginning to shout louder and louder even though I know I am deviating from the issue at hand and am entirely wrong. So a piece of advice: Speak softly and be loud .It makes u look more cool, lowers ur chances of high blood pressure and u are still heard.

Whats the big deal??
As I often screen through channels on the tube, I come across alot of self help programmes. There, people pour out their feelings and share with the world all the issues. The most annoying thing would be that these issues are so trivial and when the people cope well with it, they are considered heroes.
I feel that an example is in order. There was this girl in the Tyra Banks show that was "suffering" beacuse she was being bullied in school and so something had to be done. There was also another instance when this girl lost her mother during a holiday was trying to cope with life without her and the added pressure on her. I dont mean any offence at all and i sympathise with them totally but the issue I have is , so what?? I dont quite comprehend why only people in the developed countries especially in US have so many problems that are blown up but when in fact they are something that is very common. Developing countries experience disasters that are ten fold in terms of scale and they lose more but they dont have a medium for which they can express their grieve.
Developed countries i can fairly say take their position for granted. They will truly know what is hell when they go to less fortunate countries. Only then will they realise that being teased or breaking up with their boyfriends or simply being poor is miniscule in status. The media is too interested with sharing with the world the plight, no matter how small, with the rest of the world. Look at Hurricane Katrina. I know that there was devestation is New Orleans and all but I mean why isnt there coverage of all the other disaters? I admit that it was an ordeal but come on. I dont like it when people in bigger countries feel that they are the only ones in the world suffering when in fact they are not. We are getting more and more picky about these things and the fact that self help shows deem people who face meagre issues as heroes reiterates this point.
I know that there will never come a point when there would be more coverage for the poorer countries, but please people in bigger countries, when u think that u are facing one heck of a catastrophe, spare a thought for those who suffer more than u each second.

What people always ask me..??
Hi..Just wanted to share with the world some thoughts and the knowledge of some things that go on in the mind of people around me. Basically they tend to ask me stuff that are hysterical but some how gets u thinking what goes on in that brain of theirs. I do not mean to insult anyone who asks people what I am about to say on a regular basis but maybe just point out to u why I feel that they are redundant..haha..or rather why they are so funny.
"Hey, u vegetarian right? U can eat chicken or fish?"..This is basically rhetorical and does not need an explanation.. Say what u might but the ans is so duh haha.
"Hey I thought vegetarians are supposed to be skinny how come u are nt?"
Vegans can be both skinny or fat and it fundamentally depends on food intake and what type of foods are consumed and how much we expend and that depends on the kind of lifestyle we lead and so there u are.. after all we still are humans and we function in every way everyone else does.
That is just an appetiser , will give u more in future.
This next part is abt the ignorance of the chinese friends I have and I dont blame them. I mean its not really their fault that they do not comprehend basic things such as these but I admire their desire to gain enlightenment by making queries. This may only refer to several groups of ppl.
1st problem: They have this idea that all Indians know tamil.
Tamil is a language and Indian is a race.Easy.
2nd problem: They have this notion that all Indians are black.
...?nonsense
3rd problem: They have the habit of mixing up Tamil and Hindi.
Tamil is frm tamil nadu and Hindi is spoken mostly in the north but is the ntl
lang of india.
4th problem: They think that all Bollywood movies revolves around ppl dancing ard trees.
haha haha.. this is comical man. I admit that all shows involve dancing but the ones
in the past few years do not consist of any such thing. Stop living in the past!!!
These are issues that require attention since we are a multi racial community but somehow they dont know these basic things. I am not sure how to react to these whether to shoot myself or die laughing but they not understanding is pure gold and entertainment as they ranck their heads to solve this scientific puzzle..
I will share with u more soon but as a last note i would like to officially say for the benefit of those who dont already know that Indians are not BANGLAS!
