Teenage Tribulations

This is a confession that I never made when I was studying in Loyang. It was a rather loborious day with teachers lamenting us for poor performances in exams. We all knew, if not before the papers, that we did not prepare as much as we should have but we did not require that much nagging by teachers. I have immense respect for teachers but when they think we cannot think for ourselves, maybe this applies for my class only, it might cause me to crack a fuse. My history teacher is one of my favourite teachers and i was aware of her intentions but sadly i was told on the wrong day.

After getting barraged by a few other teachers, she was next on the list. We understood the first time she told us but she just kept repeating that we should not rest on our laurels and should improve on our performance. Lets get to the point. She was speaking when i suddenly burst out and told her to shut up. Embarrased by it but it happened. Everyone gasped and turned, but worst was the look i was given by her. Stunned, shocked but worst was her disppointment. Something that always annoyed me in Loyang was what was expected of me as i accomplished more and more. But the thing is their desires of me may not be of what my potential presents but more of what they presume an ideal student must be but at times such expectationsay be beyond reach and tendency is they might be disappointed.
